Detained INC candidate Lamtinthang released

INC candidate from Saitu AC Dr Lamtinthang Haokip for the 12th Manipur Legislative Assembly election has been released late Monday night after brief detention by police in connection with an alleged election related violent incident.
Dr Lamtinthang was warmly welcomed by his supporters, fans and workers at his Kholep residence after he was released on bail.
Addressing his supporters at Kholep village, Dr Lamtinthang Haokip said that he was framed wrongfully at the behest of evildoers but they will not succeed in their evil plan as God is with him.
"I have nothing but a thousand faithful and committed hearts who never bow down to evil but stood firm for better Manipur and better future," asserted Dr Lamtinthang.
The INC candidate also thanked his supporters, fans and workers for their resolute stand for truth.
The flash bandh imposed by supporters, fans and workers of INC candidate was called off after Dr Lamtinthang reached his residence.
The INC candidate from 51-Saitu AC was detained by police after he was picked up from 51/46 New Keithelmanbi polling station following a complaint by BJP Manipur Pradesh accusing the INC candidate and his associates of violating the model code of conduct by forcefully entering the polling booth and destroying the EVM and other polling equipment apart from threatening and beating up the polling officials on duty.
Meanwhile, 51/46 New Keithelmanbi polling station is likely to go for re-poll as the Election Commission of India had already taken note of the incident.
