Election at Keirao filled with discrepancies, alleges NPP candidate

National People's Party candidate Md Nasiruddin Khan @ Baboi has categorically stated that the 12th Manipur State Assembly election conducted at Keirao constituency was neither free nor fair in a lot of aspects and appealed for a re-poll owing to these alleged discrepancies.
The statement was made during a press conference held at the residence of the NPP candidate in Kyamgei Muslim yesterday.
Addressing the media persons, he stated that NPP polling agents were barred from entering the official premises of polling stations 6/31, 6/32, 6/36, 6/37, 6/38, 6/13, 6/14 and 6/15 .
He further made allegations against workers of MLA Rameshwar accusing them of intentionally blocking roads, tampering with the cameras at polling stations and causing damages to the vehicles of his supporters.
Md Nasiruddin Khan also accused the MLA of being involved in the arson case of Central Library and called it unfortunate that the BJP had chosen this MLA with a criminal record to serve the people.
The acts of injustice that occurred in Keirao AC in the midst of the State Assembly election will remain as a source of embarrassment in the history of the State, he added.
Further, Md Nasiruddin Khan shared that a complaint had been submitted to the CEO, Manipur in this regard and appealed to the Election Commission of India to conduct a re-poll.
