Governor reaches out with co-operation call

Governor La Ganesan has categorically said that there will be no development on any front if people do not cooperate with the Government.
While addressing an interaction programme at Machi High School in Tengnoupal district today, the Governor said, "we as citizens of this country must contribute and co-operate with developmental activities" .
La Ganesan further said that the Centre has implemented a number of developmental programmes in Manipur and the State Government is working in line with the Central Government.
He also said that the hardships being faced by the people should be addressed as early as possible.
Insisting that there must be at least one hospital in every sub-division to provide proper health care facilities, the Governor asked the district authorities concerned to look into the matter.
Expressing concern over the increasing number of drug related cases in the State, La Ganesan urged all to stop indulging in activities which are detrimental to the health and safety of the people.
The Governor also urged all concerned to stop planting poppy immediately and added that drug menace is a threat to the society.
The Governor also appealed to the people to get themselves vaccinated against COVID-19 and enrol for Aadhaar card.
Earlier, CSOs and village chiefs of Machi and adjoining villages submitted a memorandum to the Governor to take prompt action to address certain issues and highlighted facilities lacking in the village such as health, education, infrastructure and connectivity.
On his arrival at the sub-divisional headquarters, the Governor was accorded a warm welcome by Tengnoupal DC Mannuamching and other top officials of the State Government.
