AR, BSF units organise Yoga sessions

Marking the 45th day of countdown to International Day of Yoga (IDY), 44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised "Yoga Prabha" at Tamenglong Helipad.
The event organised in the backdrop of scenic hills of Tamenglong was focused to propagate good practices of yoga.
The event was also part of the unit's on-going initiatives with regard to observance of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and was aimed to inspire "Mass Movement for Health and Well Being" through Yoga.
Common Yoga Protocols and Yoga demonstration were some of the activities undertaken by the battalion at the event.
Speaking on the occasion, battalion officials stressed on the importance of Yoga.
As Yoga is an integral part of our nation's cultural and spiritual heritage, this event will help create wider awareness among the participants about the importance of Yoga in daily life.
With such initiatives, Assam Rifles hopes to promote Yoga and spread message for holistic development of mind and body, which is highly beneficial to whole population, they said.
Meanwhile, troops of 113 Battalion Border Security Force (BSF) under commandant Hidam Shubol Singh organised a Yoga session at Sendra on Friday as part of a series of events being planned for celebration of International Yoga Day under Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav.
In a release, 113 Bn BSF informed that locals including school children from nearby villages of Moirang and Loktak participated in the Yoga session.
The benefits of doing Yoga regularly for ultimate physical and mental hygiene was emphasised during the event.
The participants appreciated the efforts made by BSF to promote Yoga as a means of physical fitness and mental peace.
Refreshment was also served to all the participants, the release added.
