IED explodes, no casualty

Imphal, May 06 2022:
A bomb suspected to be an IED went off at the residence of an Executive Engineer of Agriculture Department at Khurai Thoidingjam Leikai at around 3.30 am, today.
The house belongs to RK Virendra.
This is the second blast within 24 hours as another bomb attack was carried out at Nagamapal yesterday.
Soon after the explosion, a team of Imphal East police rushed to the site and took stock of the situation.
None were injured in the explosion but at least three cars parked nearby were reportedly damaged.
Till the time of filing this report, no group or individual has claimed responsibility for the attack.
A case has been registered at Porompat police station.
Denouncing the attack, the Co-ordinating Body, Khurai and locals of Khurai staged a sit in protest this evening.
Speaking to media persons, Co-ordinating Body, Khurai spokesperson Bon Khurai said that carrying out such an attack in a crowded place is uncalled for and appealed to all concerned to not repeat such acts in future.
He also urged all concerned to reveal the motive behind the attack as the same has worried the people of Khurai.
