Rally flagged off

Forest, Environment and Climate Change Minister Thongam Biswajit Singh flagged off a motorcycle rally from the campus of Wal United Youth Club, Wangkhei Angom Leikai, Imphal, today.
The motorcycle rally was organized by Royal Riders Manipur to commemorate the "12th Mahousa Ima Ningsing Tha" in connection with World Environment Day 2022 under the theme "Only One Earth" .
The environment campaign will be held for a month and cover three districts.
Addressing the gathering as chief guest before the flag-off event, Th Biswajit Singh encouraged the people to preserve natural resources for future generations.
He also emphasized that for the last twenty years, society seems to be focusing on mitigating the effect of climate change without taking up any preventive measures to sustain nature.
He added that nature has given many resources and "we should safeguard these limited resources as our primary duty" .
Further, the Minister appealed to the youth to contribute in preserving nature and take part in tree plantation drives.
The Minister also assured to provide all sorts of assistance to Royal Riders Manipur in safeguarding the environment.
Later, the Minister flagged off the team of Royal Riders Manipur which will head to Bishnupur, Imphal East and Kangpokpi for a tree plantation campaign.
Royal Riders Manipur president RK Tombisana, president along with 150 bikers from different clubs of Manipur took part in the ceremony.
