AR annual seminar & DGs Conclave 2022 held

The DGs' Conclave and Assam Rifles Annual Seminar with United Services Institute (USI), India was held at Shaurya CRPF Training Institute, New Delhi.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Assam Rifles raised on March 24, 1835, is the oldest Paramilitary Force in the country.
Assam Rifles Raising Day is observed every year and to commemorate the same, the Director Generals' Conclave is generally held in New Delhi prior to the Raising Day.
But this year in view of the Covid-19 pandemic, the Conclave and Assam Rifles Annual Seminar with USI of India was held on Friday.
The proceedings of the day began with the Annual Seminar with USI which was attended by MoS Home Nityanand Rai.
The seminar was based on the theme "Economic Growth is Prerequisite to Address Deeply Rooted Insurgencies in the North East".
The curtain raiser for the event began with address by USI director (Retd) Maj Gen BK Sharma and a special address by DGAR Lt Gen PC Nair.
First session of the seminar focused on the "North East Insurgencies and other Challenges" and had eminent panellists which included former DG Assam Rifles (Retd) Lt Gen Shokin Chauhan as moderator and Pradeep Phanjoubam, Dr Pahi Saikia and Jaideep Saikia as co-panellists.
Session 2 of the seminar analysed the importance of "Economic Growth of North East for Harbinger of Peace and Prosperity in the Region" and was moderated by (Retd) Lt Gen (Dr) K Himalaya Singh with (Retd) Maj Gen Anuj Mathur, Dr Anasua Basu Roy Chaudhary and (Retd) IFS Pinak Ranjan Chakravarty as the panel members.
The seminar was attended by a large number of civilian dignitaries, serving and retired officers of the Assam Rifles, CRPF, Indian Armed Forces and members of media.
The aspects brought up by the speakers gave valuable inputs on the dynamics of the North East and how the role economic development can play towards its growth, peace and prosperity.
The invaluable suggestions from the speakers and audience generated valuable thoughts to ponder over for all decision makers thereby making this event a grand success.
The evening proceedings included the DGs' Conclave which was chaired by DGAR Lt Gen PC and attended by the Ex-DGs & other officers of Assam Rifles.
During the Conclave, discussions on various issues on the general functioning of the Force, the current security situation in the Northeast and future action plans were held.
The Assam Rifles popularly known as the 'Sentinels of the North East' has committed itself towards security, peace and development of the North East.
The Assam Rifles has not only ensured the safety and security of the region but also ensured unity amongst diversity in the North East, the PRO conveyed.
