Jail inmate's father held

Imphal, June 10 2014:
Father of a jail inmate who tried to smuggle in No 4 (heroin) for his son was apprehended by the staff of Manipur Central Jail, Sajiwa.
Additional SP(Prisons) W Phanitphang said that Moses Vashum (52) of Yaingangpokpi was apprehended by jail staff from the exterior gate of the jail complex at around 10.40 am today.
Moses' son Mayangam Vashum (24) is currently lodged in the jail after he was arrested in connection with an extortion case.
The ASP said that both the father and the son looked like drug abusers.
Jailor N Hemantakumar said that jail inmates are allowed to meet visitors between 10 am and 1pm of every Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
As usual all visitors were frisked and in the process five tiny paper packets were found inside the inner pocket of Moses' pants.
At first, Moses claimed that they were medicines for piles.
On further questioning, he disclosed that the packets were No 4.He bought the drug at Rs 100 per packet from North AOC and he further revealed that he himself is also a drug abuser.
Moses has been handed over to Heingang police station along with the seized drug.
