Imphal, June 10 2014:
It is time for expulsion spree within Trinamool Congress in Manipur.
A day after MLA Th Shyamkumar announced to the media about the expulsion of three legislators of Trinamool Congress in Manipur and another three serving show cause notices for their alleged anti-party activities, the Joykishan group of State Trinamool Congress unit today said that they have expelled Shyamkumar from the party for six years for anti-party activities.
Talking to media in this regard today, MLA Kh Joykishan re-iterated that he was elected as the president of the party and charged Shyamkumar for all the ills in the party.
Countering Shyamkumar's claim that he was appointed as president of All India Trinamool Congress (AITC), Manipur unit, Joykishan stated that one has to be elected to become the party president.
"No one can simply claim to be the president of the party," Joykishan stated.
According to Joykishan, out of 25 executive members of MPTC, 23 of them are with him.
The act of Shyamkumar appeared to have been instigated by someone to split the MPTC.
Joykishan also said that AITC is a regional party and MPTC is also a regional party.
"One regional party from a different state cannot interfere in the affairs of the other.
MPTC is now a different regional party altogether based in Manipur.
Joykishan further disclosed that they will submit the expulsion order of Shyamkumar to the Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker.
MLA Kunjo, MLA Th Bishorjit, MLA K Sarat and other party leaders were also present during the press meet.
