Union MoS RR Ranjan, , others meet Governor

Governor Anusun a Ui-key on Thursday held series of discussions about the on-going crisis in the state which stared on May 3, with Union minister of state Dr RK Ranjan Singh, chief secretary Vineet Joshi, Manipur Democratic Alliance president Bijoy Koijam, Meetei Council, Moreh assistant sec-retary K Manju Meitei along with five other members and Forum for Restoration of Peace convenor Ashang Kasar and nine members, at Raj Bhavan.
Dr Ranjan deliberated on the current crisis besieging the state while also informing the Governor that he (Ran-jan) along with MP Dr Lorho Pfoze had made a joint appeal to members of various commu-nities of Manipur that through dialogue only the present crisis can be resolved.
The Governor also informed that army and Assam Rifles in consultation with the state government and all stakehold-ers have worked out fresh and elaborate security measures to address the fears of members of all communities, especially those staying in fringe vul-nerable areas outside Imphal.
Meanwhile, chief secretary Vineet Joshi updated the Gov-ernor on the latest develop-ments with regard to the unrest situation and measures put in place to contain communal tension and restore normalcy in the state.
The team of Manipur Nation-al Democratic Front highlight-ed to the Governor demand raised for separate adminis-tration by the 10 Kuki MLAs and common people's appre-hension over the integrity and unity of the state.
The team also submitted a memorandum to the Governor on the same matter.
During the meeting, the Governor appealed to all in-cluding political parties and CSOs to set aside differences and take resolution to establish peace and tranquillity in the state at the earliest.
The Meetei Council, Moreh team also submitted a mem-orandum while apprising the Governor about the prevailing situation in Moreh, Tengnoupal district and urged the Governor to take decisive approach to tackle the crisis.
While ex-pressing gratitude to efforts of the Governor to contain vi-olence, the team stated that her (Governor) endeavours for providing immediate re-lief and rehabilitation to the violence-hit displaced people in the state are welcomed by one and all.
During her meeting with team of Forum for Restoration of Peace, the Governor was apprised about the condition of the victims of the May 3 clashes and the difficulties faced by many of the displaced people.
The team also highlighted the need for bridging the gap of mistrust between the differ-ent communities which have been co-existing peacefully prior to May 3 and submitted a memorandum.
