Imphal, May 25 2023:
Expressing remorse over the unwanted incidents occurring in the state since May 3, the armed National Revolutionary Front, Mani-pur (NRFM) said that the outfit will take action against those responsible for the clashes between two communities.
According to a statement of NRFM, more than two lakh Chin-Kuki people from Myanmar entered Manipur after the Military Junta took over power in Myanmar and many of the illegal immigrants joined the Tribal Solidarity Rally organised on May 3 in Churachandpur.
Torching of Meetei houses, looting and killing started even before the culmination of the rally thereby igniting the communal clash between the Kuki and Meetei, the outfit said.
According to the NRFM, Kukis are one ethnic commu-nity of Manipur though not indigene and any Kuki who thinks Manipur as mother-land can live in the land and those against the idea of a unified Manipur must leave.
Now is not the time to blame one another for the present crisis, the outfit said and ques-tioned if a civil war could bring solution to the crisis.
It also warned that arms might be used against anyone including religious leaders who attempt to distort territorial integrity of Manipur.
The NRFM statement further said that a cultural revolution is the only option left to resolve the present conflict and the outfit will start socio-political campaign for ensuring success of the revolution.
