Manipur BJP condemns Mizoram BJP's statements

While strongly con-demning the statement by Mizoram BJP, BJP Manipur Pradesh president A Sharda confided that the matter has been apprised to the national leaders along with a request to investigate the truth of the matter and initiate appropriate action.
Addressing a press meet held at BJP Manipur Pradesh at Nityaipat Chuthek here on Wednesday, Sharda expressed her deepest condolences over the violence which occurred in the state from May 3.However, she contended that no threat to Manipur's integrity will be tolerated or accepted.
She continued that the party will stand for Manipur's in-tegrity at all times.
She then recounted her meeting with Union Home Minister Amit Shah on May 13 along with the chief minister and other cabinet ministers.
During the meeting, discussions were held on the prevailing communal tension in the state.
In response, the union home minister assured to protect Manipur's integrity, she said, while expressing firm belief that the central govern-ment will stand for the state's integrity.
Emphasising the need for all to work together to save the state, the party president appealed to the people not to put forward any statements which could be misunderstood.
Most importantly, the party workers will gather a detailed report and the same will be forwarded to the centre and the state's security advisor.
She continued that amidst this, a resolution adopted during an executive meeting of Mizoram BJP has been doing the rounds in media.
"BJP Manipur Pradesh strongly condemns the reso-lution made by its counterparts in Mizoram," she said, while informing that the matter has been brought up at the nation-al level along with a request to investigate the truth of the matter and take up necessary action in this regard.
It may be mentioned here that a state executive meeting of the Mizoram BJP had adopt-ed a resolution, concluding "I.hle find the demand of the 10 MLAs for a separate administration reasonable, considering their lives are at risk in Manipur", as was reported by EastMojo on May 21, and published by The People's Chronicle in the May 22 edition.
The EastMojo report date-lined in Aizawl had further stated: "We strongly condemn the Manipur government and those responsible for these acts.
We empathize with those who have suffered due to the vi-olence and demand that the Manipur government com-pensate those who have lost their homes, churches, and properties as per their losses".
LDA chairman and RIP Ma-nipur Pradesh leader M Asni-kumar, who was present at the press meet, also appealed for working together to re-store peace and normalcy in the state.
