Imphal, July 29 2022:
All Manipur VDF Welfare Association has warned of launching intense forms of protests if the government fails to give positive response to its long pending demands immediately.
In a release, the Association informed that it has been four days since it launched democratic agitation but without any response from the government.
The Association welcomed the recent cabinet decision to take up several welfare policies for the VDFs, however core demand for increasing the monthly honorarium of VDF has never been considered, the release pointed out.
It further informed that 10,050 VDF personnel have been on 'gun down/pen down' strike since July 26 to denounce failure of the government to honour demands of the VDFs.
Informing that the Association does not want violence but peaceful negotiations, the release contended that personnel from 16 districts have decided to launch intense forms of agitations if the government does not act favourably.
