Soso Shaiza inducted in Advisory body of NCW

Ukhrul, July 29 2022:
Chairperson of National Commission for Women (NCW) Rekha Sharma has nominated Soso Shaiza from Ukhrul as the new member of Advisory Committee for NCW on July 25 last.
Soso Shaiza is a former meber of the National Commission for Women.
According to the NCW order, she is the only person from Manipur who has been inducted in the Advisory Committee of the commission.
The commission constituted the Advisory Committee with eminent academicians, experts in gender issues, lawyers, social workers including those engaged with NGOs, doctors, retired civil servants, administrators, Heads of Institutions etc.
as its members.
The Advisory Committee will have an advisory role and it will offer suggestions on matters relating to functioning of National Commission for Women with specific emphasis on prioritisation of the laws/Acts and policies to be taken up for review.
The tenure of each Member will be two years, and is eligible for re-nomination, however, the total tenure of nominated members shall not exceed four years.
It might be mentioned that Soso Shaiza was also a senior member of "National Commission for Women" (NCW) from November 19, 2018 to 2021.Shaiza is a prominent educationist from Ukhrul district and she has worked extensively to bring quality education in the State.
Belonging to a Tangkhul community, Sosa Shaiza played an active role in the inclusion of Tangkhul language in the CBSE curriculum, making it the first tribal language recognized as a 'Modem Indian Language' by the CBSE.
In 2011, Soso Shaiza was conferred the "Best Educationist Award" and a "Certificate of Education Excellence" for her outstanding achievements by the International Institute of Education Management, New Delhi.
She also received the "Asia-Pacific Gold Star Award" given by the Global Achievers' Foundation in Dubai, UAE in 2011 .
