Work-charged, muster roll pensioners of MSPCL and MSPDCL urge for release of pending pensions

Pensioners' Union of NEPLE & PLS Employees (MSPCL & MSPDCL) has cautioned of intense agitation if the long pending pension of workcharge and muster roll pensioners of MSPCL and MSPDCL are not released by August 7 .
With regards to the issue of the pensioners who have been deprived of their due pension benefits since the past 6/7 years, a press meet was held today at the conference hall of MEEU, Keishampat.
Addressing media persons, the union's general secretary, L Rajen Singh informed that the union submitted a written complaint to the Principal Secretary (Power) on July 6 last apprising him that pensions under Social Security Scheme (SSS) of work-charge and muster roll pensioners of MSPCL and MSPDCL have not been released starting from 2017 till 2022 .
He went on to state that subsequently the Principal Secretary (Power) assured to release the pending pensions and requested for one month's time to process the same.
Accordingly the pensioners have been patiently waiting for the initiation process, he added.
He urged that the Principal Secretary (Power) should take up all possible measures to release the pending pensions of these pensioners acknowledging their difficulties by August 7 and to ensure that the pension amount is deposited in the accounts of the pensioners from August 10 till 25.He continued that if their demands are not fulfilled within the set time frame, the pensioners will be compelled to take up all sorts of intense agitation and warned that they will not retreat until and unless their demands are met.
Expressing dismay that the pensioners have not received any form of aid or benefits from the authorities concerned, he stated that they are going through a grim phase and are unable to make ends meet since they have been denied their due benefits.
