44 AR dedicates water supply scheme

44 Assam Rifles of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) inaugurated and dedicated a water supply scheme with provision of pipeline for collection of water from the perennial source and infrastructure for water storage and supply at Chalwa village, Kangpokpi district.
According to a release of PIB (Defence), a project of 1800 metre long water pipeline from the perennial source along with water storage tank with a capacity of approximately 10,000 litres was initiated by the battalion.
The project was conceptualised and executed with joint efforts of villagers and troops of Banglabung post of the battalion.
The requirement of proper water supply had come to light during the interaction of 44 Assam Rifles commandant with the locals.
The com pleted project was handed over to the village authority during an event organised by the 44 Assam Rifles as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav on Sunday at Chalwa village where it was inaugurated by the commandant in presence of local villagers.
The commandant also highlighted the assistance and various welfare initiatives undertaken by the battalion in the area, the release said, adding that the village authority and community leaders of the area appreciated the efforts and speedy response to the problem by 44 Assam Rifles and also applauded the efforts in maintaining security and peace in the area.
