State sees double digit cases, again

For the second time this month, the daily Covid-19 positive cases in the state crossed the double digit mark on Sunday with 14 persons found infected out of 223 samples tested.
On April 1, 10 positive cases were detected out of 286 samples tested.
As per the government bulletins released on Sunday, the state's daily positivity rate was recorded at 6.3 per cent as Churachandpur district topped the chart at 25 per cent after two persons were found positive for the infectious disease out of eight persons examined while two cases (16.7 pc) were detected in Kakching district, Bishnupur district reported two positive cases (12.5 pc); Thoubal district one (7.1 pc), Imphal East four 8.3 pc) and Imphal West three (3.8 pc).
The positive cases detected in the last 24 hours, comprising eight males and six females, were confirmed at different testing centres.
However, there were no Covid-19 related deaths in the state in the said period and the toll remains at 2120 .
Four persons were discharged from Home Isolation (2) and Covid Care Facility (2) .
The cumulative number of positive cases is 1,37,119 (General Population - 1,32,105 and Central Security Personnel - 5,014) while the cumulative number of recovered cases is 1,34,958 (General Population - 1,29,951 and Central Security Personnel 5,007).There are 41 active cases in the state with all belonging to the general population as the recovery rate dropped to 98.42 per cent against 98.43 per cent on Saturday.
According to the government bulletins, a total of 311 D-type and 118 B-type Oxygen cylinders were provided to different health facilities across the state on Saturday whereas the number of beds available at JNIMS and RIMS is 297 and 186 respectively.
There are 3 patients at JNIMS and four at RIMS Covid facilities.
Meanwhile, 250 vaccine doses were administered on Saturday taking the cumulative number of doses to 27,91,776, including 15,41,950 first dose recipients and 11,83,468 persons provided the second doses and 66,358 persons jabbed for the third time (precautionary doses) .
