'Promoting CC Tea cultivation can aid in controlling poppy plantation'

AMADA former secretary N Bobo has said that if initiative for wide cultivation of plant used in CC Tea production is made, it will be helpful in controlling poppy plantation across the State.
N Bobo made the remark while attending a pre-launching ceremony of CCT marketing held at ICM, Lamphel organised by Kurumlem Sintha Yaibikol Private Limited today and added that as CC Tea has a lot of benefit towards our health, its demand is increasing from various countries.
The Government should consider making schemes for mass plantation of the plant used in CC Tea production to ensure mass production of the special tea which will help in income towards the State as well as aid in controlling poppy plantation across the State, he added.

Speaking at the event Thokchom Ranjan, director CC Tea said CC Tea has anti-tumor cell, medicinal properties that can fight off diabtetes and is currently being cultivated in as much as 700 acres providing employment to about 1700 people.
ICM director K Joychandra said CC Tea is a brand trusted by many and the initiatives taken up by Kurumlem Sintha Yaibikol Private Limited to further the reach of CC Tea is commendable.
Kurumlem Sintha Yaibikol Private Limited CEO K Premchandra said CC Tea is already in the market, but the traditional way of marketing is proving costly and ineffective in reaching to the wider customer base and that is the reason behind the decision to launch multi level marketing system.
The reason to promote CC Tea is simple, it is made in Manipur, it has various medicinal properties including anit-tumor cell and diabetes fighting properties all supported by a number of clinical data, he added.
Speaking at the event, Kripa Society president Hijam Dineswar said product like CC Tea will be very important for Manipur with the coming of policies like Act East Policy.
The programme was also attended by social activist and actor RK Kaiku.
