10-year-old girl attends school while babysitting her sister

After a picture of 10 year old Meiningsinliu Pamei from Tamenglong attending school while babysitting her sister went viral yesterday, scores of people across the State including Chief Minister N Biren Singh and Agriculture Minister Th Biswajit have extended help to support her in pursuing her academic career.
Meiningsinliu Pamei is a student of Dailong Primary School in Tamenglong and currently reads in class I .
She hails from a very poor family.
Her mother left the house to look for work for the day leaving Meiningsinliu's baby sister behind.
At this point Meiningsinliu made the decision to take her baby sister to school with her as there was no one to look after the infant.

The viral picture of her babysitting her infant sister at school instantly captured the hearts of people.
Many of them also professed their desire to help the little girl in pursuing her studies while lauding her zeal to gain knowledge.
Chief Minister N Biren Singh was no different as he immediately sent a team from Tamenglong Child Line Service to Meiningsinliu's residence and instructed them to provide aid to the girl under The Integrated Child Protection Scheme (ICPS).
The team also handed over daily essential items to the family.
Thongam Biswajit Singh, Minister of Agriculture of Manipur, shared it with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Home Minister Amit Shah and other BJP leaders.
He expressed his amazement on Twitter, saying, "Her dedication for education is what left me amazed!" .
"As soon as I noticed this news on social media, we traced her family and asked them to bring her to Imphal.
Spoke to her family that I will personally take care of her education till she graduates.
Proud of her dedication," added the Minister.
Education Minister Y Khemchand has also instructed a team of the Directorate of Education to visit the little girl and take up necessary measures for her welfare.
Impressed by Meiningsinliu, Power Minister Th Biswajit has also promised to bear the cost of her education till the graduate level.
On the other hand, president of Rongmei Naga Students Organization, Manipur (RNSOM), Daichuipou Gangmei shared that a team of RNSOM has visited Dailong village and provided an amount of Rs 10,000 as monetary aid to the family of Meiningsinliu.
