MKBA boxers crowned champions of Mega State Boxing Championship

Imphal, April 03 2022:
Mary Kom Boxing Academy (MKBA) emerged overall champions of the Mega State Level Open Boxing Championships 2022 organised by United Boxing Academy & NLC Thangmeiband under the aegis of Manipur Ametuer Boxing Association.
Oh Sunday, MKBA collected 4 more gold medals to take their gold tally to 12, in addition to 6 silver and 3 bronze which earned them a total of 56 points to take the championship title.
The MKBA boxers who triumphed in their respective gold medal bouts on the final day of the competition were Gunshalu Khumba (-52kg sub-junior girls' category), Ashalata Huiningshumbam (-52kg elite women's), Kingson Pukhrambam (-57kg elite men's) and Alena Thounaojam Devi (-63kg elite women's).
Nongada Boxing Academy (NBA) secured 40 points courtesy of their medal haul of 8 gold, 8 silver and 3 bronze to finish runners-up.
SAI Utlou (8 gold, 5 silver & 5 bronze), United Boxing Academy (8 gold, 5 silver & 3 bronze) and Puhingkhun Boxing Academy (5 gold, 10 silver & 7 bronze) completed the top five.
MKBA's duo of Kingson Pukhrambam and Ashalata H were adjudged as the best boxer in men's and women's categories.
While NBA's Yengkhom Loveson was named the best promising boxer in male category, UBA's Thoudam Mirina was given the best promising boxer title in female category.
