AR seizes drugs worth ₹ 2.31 cr

Imphal, October 31 2022:
Modi Battalion of IGAR (South) seized narcotics from Duthang village in Chandel district on October 29.In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that based on specific input regard ing movement of narcotics items near Duthang village, troops of Assam Rifles launched an operation.
The troops observed suspicious movement of two individuals carrying bag, who on being challenged, fled into the thick forest.
On thorough search of the forest, the troops recovered a black bag containing WIY tablets in four plastic bundles weighing 4.280 kg and brown sugar weighing 154 gram approximately.
The seized narcotics were assessed to be worth Rs 2.31 crore in the international market.
The recovered narcotics have been handed over to Tengnoupal Police Station for further investigation.
