Outreach programme, run mark Unity Day

A one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on National Unity Day, 2022 was organised by Central Bureau of Communication (CBC), Regional Office, Imphal at its Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak auditorium in Imphal East district.
Wangkhei High School headmistress Ranjeeta Devi Rajkumari and CBC Imphal head Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma were chief guest and president respectively of the event during which GP Women's College history assistant professor N Malemsanba Meetei explained on the life history and contributions of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
Later, the audience was urged to download and play mobile game Azadi Quest where unsung heroes of India's freedom struggle are found.
As part of the event, an on the spot quiz contest was organised and prizes and certificates distributed to the winners and all the participants.
Departmental artistes and Private Registered Troupe (PRT) of CBC, Imphal, namely Mass Theatre presented a theme based song and a drama.
Students of the Wangkhei High School also took part in the quiz competition, a release said.
Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) of Imphal West, Thoubal, Chandel and Tengnoupal also organised Unity Run as part of National Unity Day observance held at their respective offices on Monday.
NYK, Imphal West in association with NSS Unit I, II and III of Johnstone Higher Secondary School organised Pledge taking ceremony followed by Unity Run from Kangla Western gate.
The Run flagged off by Imphal West ADC K Jadumani Singh was participated by volunteers of youth clubs and School's NSS units.
To commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and as part of closing ceremony of Clean India 2.0, NYK, Thoubal observed National Unity Day on Monday in collaboration with NSS units of Waikhom Mani Girls College and Thoubal College, ZEO Thoubal and Thoubal district administration.
As part of the observance, a Unity Run was flagged of by Thoubal DC A Subhash Singh from Thoubal Wangmataba, in presence of SP Jogeshchandra Haobijam and other district level officers.
Similarly, in Chandel and Tengnoupal districts, unity runs were organised by district administrations, NCC & NSS units and youth clubs.
DC Mayanglambam Rajkumar Singh flagged of the unity run held at Chandel district headquarters while, DC Ranjan Yumnam flagged off the run held in Tengnoupal district.
