Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day 2022) was celebrated across the State today to commemorate the birth anniversary of the first Home Minister and Deputy Prime Minister of India, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, who was also known as the 'Iron Man of India' .
Border Security Force under the aegis of SHQ BSF CI (Ops), Manipur Koirengei observed Rashtriya Ekta Diwas by carrying out a Swachh Bharat Abhiyan (cleanliness drive) at BSF Koirengei campus.
On the occasion, a cycle rally was also flagged off by Dinesh Singh Rawat, DIG SHQ CI (Ops) Manipur which was attended by Sonam Chhering, Commandant of 29 Bn BSF along with troops of SHQ BSF and 29 Bn BSF, a statement from SHQ CI (Ops) Manipur has informed.
Aside from this, a "Run for Unity" program was also organised which witnessed the attendance of Dinesh Singh Rawat, officers of SHQ BSF and 29 Bn BSF, troops of BSF, students and teachers of Carmel Jyoti (orphanage home) and Divine School, Luwangsangbam, Imphal, ex-servicemen and BSF family members.
Following this, a "Chain of Unity" program was organised at BSF Koirengei.
Similarly, 143 Bn CRPF deployed in Lamphelpat, Imphal West celebrated National Unity Day 2022 by conducting various programmes from October 29 to 31 .
Today, a 'Unity Run' was organised from BN HQR Lamphelpat to Langol, a statement has informed.
The Unity Run was participated by Lamkhokham Lhoujem, Commandant, 143 Bn; Kumam Sonny Singh, 2-IC, Amaree Prasad, DC, Ksh Binod Kumar, AC, Angam Bou, AC and 250 personnel of 143 Bn.
Meanwhile, 86 Bn CRPF concluded its celebration of National Unity Day today at its Unit Headquarters in Lamphelpat by organising 'Run for Unity', pledge taking ceremony, Unity Chain and march past under the aegis of IG Manipur and Nagaland Sector and under the supervision of Mohamand Yusuf, Commandant 86 Bn CRPF.
The Commandant flagged off the run from its Unit HQ Lamphelpat.
It witnessed the participation of officers and personnel of 86 Bn CRPF with their families and locals residing in the vicinity.
Further, Mohamand Yusuf administered the oath during the pledge taking ceremony and motivated all personnel to preserve the unity, integrity and security of the nation.
Notably, 109 Bn CRPF also celebrated National Unity Day from October 29 to 31 .
As per a statement, a cycle rally was organised on October 29 and a bike rally on October 30 which were flagged off from HQ/109 Bn CRPF Mongsangei by Sh Sandeep, Second-in-Command.
Today, a 'Run for Unity' was flagged off from HQ/109 Bn CRPF Mongsangei by Unit Commandant Bal Krishna Ram; Sandeep, Second-in-Command; Kiyam Rajiv Singh, Deputy Commandant; Alex Khopom, Assistant Commandant; L Laxmikanta Singh, Assistant Commandant and other officials and personnel of 109 Bn.
To mark the special occasion of Rashtriya Ekta Diwas, Karamyogis of 25 BRTF also took a pledge and also organised a run.
To commemorate the day 44 Assam Rifles under the aegis of 22 Sector/IGAR (East) organised an oath taking ceremony followed by March-past at Tamenglong town and a unity run at Azuiram village.
A statement by PIB (Defence Wing) said that the event started from unit headquarters in Tamenglong town where rich floral tributes were paid to the Iron man of India by the Commandant.
A run for Unity was also organised for the youth at Azuiram Post of the unit.
Approximately 45 students including 20 girls took part in the run, which was followed by the pledge taking ceremony.
69 Bn, CRPF, at Mantripukhri celebrated Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National unity day) with full enthusiasm and national fervour.
The unit conducted Unity Run, Bike rally, took pledge and formed unity chain.
Gobardhan Sethi 2 IC, 69 Bn, CRPF apprised the gathering about the importance of the day, said a statemnt by the unit.
Nehru Yuva Kendra Imphal West observed National Unity Day 2022 in association with NSS Unit 1, 11 and III of Johnstone Hr.

The Unity Run was flagged off from Kangla Western gate by K Jadumani Singh, Additional Deputy Commissioner, Imphal West.
The run was also participated by the staff of Postal Department Imphal.
Lastly, a one-day Integrated Communication and Outreach Programme (ICOP) on National Unity Day 2022 was organized by the Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal at its auditorium at Wangkhei Yonglan Leirak, Imphal East today.
Dignitaries present at the event include Ranjeeta Devi Rajkumari, headmistress, Wangkhei High School, Imphal and Dr Aribam Ibomcha Sharma, Head of Office, Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal as the chief guest and functional president respectively, a statement issued by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Central Bureau of Communication, Regional Office, Imphal has informed.
An on-the-spot quiz contest was also organized and prizes and certificates distributed to the winners and all participants.
