Remand for two accused

The Special Court POCSO Imphal East has remanded two persons accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting of minor girl to judicial custody.
While one of the accused persons is an 18-year-old boy, the other person has been identified as Ngangom Anthony (32) of Yairipok Yambem Mathak Leikai.
They were produced before the Court after the completion of the police custody period by a team of Imphal East Women Police Station.
Investigating Officer of the case through Assistant Public Prosecutor submitted that on 26 October, the mother of the minor victim lodged a complaint to the women police station Imphal East stating that her minor daughter was allegedly kidnapped and sexually assaulted by the accused persons on October 24 evening.
This came to light when the victim narrated about the incident.
During the course of investigation, the 18-year-old youth was arrested on October 26 from his residence while coaccused, Ngangom Anthony had surrendered before the Court in connection with the case on October 28.The Investigating Officer submitted that during police custody interrogation, the 18-year-old allegedly revealed that he and the victim were known to each other from a year back and on the day of incident, they picked up the minor victim from her locality in a car.
In the back seat of the vehicle, the 18-year-old allegedly forced the minor girl to consume alcohol.
He then allegedly sexually assaulted the victim when the co-accused, Anthony was driving the car.
Anthony then allegedly took turn to sexually assault the minor girl.
The Court after hearing the submission of the Investigating Officer, remanded both the accused persons in judicial custody.
However, the Court directed the Investigating Officer to conduct ossification test of the 18-year-old for determining his age and submit a report before it on or before November 17 .
