Peace call reverberates in Kut greetings

Governor La Ganesan along with Chief Minister N Biren Singh and other political leader of the State have extended their heartiest greetings to the people of Manipur, especially the Kuki-Chin-Mizo community on the occasion of Chavang Kut, which falls on November 1.In a statement, the Governor stated that the Kut festival which is considered as the biggest festival among the Kuki-Chin-Mizo community symbolizes peace, harmony and unity, rising above barriers of caste, creed or religion.
He expressed hope that the spirit of Chavang Kut will embrace one and all to strengthen the social fabric and bring prosperity to all communities.
Extending his wishes, the Chief Minister stated that the festival marks the end of the harvesting season and is celebrated to offer thanksgiving to the Almighty for a bountiful harvest.
He urged people from different communities to join the celebration and help in spreading the message of unity and peace.
Manipur Legislative Assembly Speaker Th Satyabrata Singh wished all communities a happy Kut festival celebration while Water Resources Minister Awangbow Newmai extended his wishes for this post-harvest festival to form a platform to harness peace and harmony among the diverse ethnic communities of the State.
"May this festival bring love, peace and prosperity to the people of Manipur", came the wish from MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand.
Conveying similar sentiments of love and peace, Th Basanta Kumar Singh, Minister of Education, urged everyone to unite and work together to usher in an era of prosperity in Manipur.
Extending Kut greetings, Health & Family Welfare Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh shared that the Kut celebration organised by the State Level Committee is a thanksgiving festival which shows gratitude to the Almighty with the presentation of vibrant folk dances that reflect joy and happiness.
Nemcha Kipgen, Minister of Textiles, Commerce and Industry & Co-operation also conveyed her warm regards with the arrival of Chavang Kut.
On this occasion, Dinganglung Gangmei, Chairman, Hill Areas Committee (HAC) extended his warm greetings with prayers for joy, happiness and unity among all.
Separately, United Committee Manipur (UCM) has also wished the Kuki-Chin-Mizo community a prosperous Kut festival with wishes for it to be filled with love, good health, prosperity, development and blessings from the Almighty.
Manipur Hill Journalists Union, too, joined in conveying their Chavang Kut wishes with the hope that the festival will bring people of all communities together and usher in a period of peaceful co-existence.
