Governor, CM, many others extend New Year greetings

Governor La Ganesan led in greet- ing the people of the State on New Year's eve today.
The Governor, in his message to the people, wished the New Year 2023 to bring peace and prosperity to all.
"New Year is for making new resolutions.
As we enter 2023, let us all resolve to work together for creating harmony and perfect peace in all parts of Manipur during the coming year.
I join the people of Manipur in celebrating New Year Day 2023 and hope that the coming year will be much better and more prosperous as compared to all the previous years," said the Governor greeting the people.
Following the Governor, Chief Minister N Biren Singh too wished the best to the people on the New Year.
"On the joyous occasion of the New Year, 2023, I convey my heartiest greetings and best wishes to the people of the State," greeted N Biren Singh.
The year 2022 was a year of progress and achievement for the State of Manipur.
Several development pro-jects were taken up in di- fferent sectors including health, education, roads, start-ups and sports, among others.
The State Government, considering the importance of well being of the people, has also developed amusement parks, open gyms and Kangla Nongpok Torban.
After a gap of two years, Manipur Sangai Festival 2022 was held in a grandeur manner in different venues across the State, along with the inauguration of the Sangai Ethnic Park, N Biren said in his message.
"What was more of a breakthrough during 2022 was the mass support from different communities towards the Government's War on Drugs campaign and people's trust in the public administration," he said.
Seeking cooperation and support of the people in making Manipur a 'world class tourist destination and self-reliant, the Chief Minister also spoke of the impor- tance of the G20 summit India is hosting in 2023 and the opportunity it would provide for Manipur to showcase her potential for further development.
May the New Year bring happiness, peace and prosperity to all, he wished.
Th Satyabrata Singh, Speaker of Manipur Legislative Assembly, also greeted the people on the New Year and wished for 2023 to bring good health, prosperity and success to all.
Textiles Minister Nemcha Kipgen, MAHUD Minister Yumnam Khemchand Singh, Education Minister Th Basantakumar Singh, Health Minister Dr Sapam Ranjan Singh and BJP State Unit president A Sharda, among others, also wished the people a joyous and peaceful New Year.
Many organisations including political parties, Communist Party of India, Manipur State Council, Manipur Pradesh Congress Committee and Manipur People's Democratic Front too greeted the people on the New Year.
