NIT flagged in at Mantripukhri

Inspector General Assam Rifles (South) flagged in the National Integration Tour organised under the aegis of Spear Corps on Saturday at Mantripukhri Garrison.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that Assam Rifles organised the tour for a group of 27 students, including 11 boys, 16 girls and two teachers from general area Shangshak in Ukhrul district to Dehradun, Agra and New Delhi from December 14 to 30.During the course of the tour, the students visited RIMC, IMA and Mindrolling Monastery at Dehradun.
They also had an opportunity to witness Para Jumps live at Agra.
Few students described visit to the Taj Mahal and Fatehpur Sikri as their most wonderful experience.
However, the icing on the cake remained the enviable opportunity to meet the President of India Droupadi Murmu at Rastrapati Bhavan.
While at the capital city, the group also visited NSG hub at Manesar before concluding the trip with sight-seeing trip to historical sites like Red Fort, Qutub Minar and Connaught Place.
The Armed Forces organised such educational tours with the spirit to provide an opportunity to the children of North Eastern region to broaden their horizon through exposure to the heritage, culture, hallowed institutions and varied lifestyles of people in other parts of India.
It would enable the participants to develop sense of oneness and foster bonds of friendship with people of other states.
The students also came to learn about various career options which exist in our own country.
The tour provided great motivation to the students as they had opportunities to interact with eminent personalities including the First citizen of the country.
The students participated with full zeal and enthusiasm.
In a candid interaction with the students, the IG enquired about their experiences during the tour, to which the children and faculty members expressed their joy and excitement.
They whole-heartedly extended their appreciation and gratitude for the efforts of security forces for organising the tour in such a meticulous manner.
They further requested to organise more such events in future as well.
