Thoubal, December 31 2022:
While demanding authority concerned to arrest and give befitting punishment to Thokchom Kennedy, a teacher who reportedly enticed and kidnapped a 13-year-old girl and has gone into hiding, by January 2; the JAC formed in connection with the kidnapping has cautioned of launching intense stir with like-minded women's organisations, CSOs, clubs and student bodies from the next day onwards in case the absconding teacher is not arrested.
Addressing a press meet held after a public meeting convened at Hayellabuk playground on Saturday, JAC co-convenor Md Sarif Khan recounted that the 13-year-old girl from Hayellabuk, who is studying in Class VIII, was enticed, and then taken away by Elite Coaching Centre, Khangabok Part-1 founder Thokchom Kennedy.
Kennedy s/o Th Muhindro of Khangabok Lamdaibung is married with kids.
Both Kennedy and the girl are presently untraceable.
In this regard, a written report was filed at Thoubal Women Police on January 16.During a talk with SP Thoubal, the SP notified to the family to make preparations for nabbing the teacher and rescuing the girl.
Later, the SP informed that the kidnapper is now out of the state and cannot be arrested, which is an embarrassment for the Home Department.
Nonetheless, the JAC and the people have been urging the Chief Minister and the authorities concerned to take up necessary action as soon as possible, he recalled.
Md Sarif continued that Th Kennedy is an immoral teacher, who has desecrated the pure teacher-student relationship.
As such, he (Sarif) demanded the government to arrest Kennedy and rescue the 13-year-old girl within 48 hours i.e., by January 2, failing which intense agitations would be launched from the next day onwards.
The co-convenor then appealed to the CSOs, student bodies, clubs/organisations and Meira Paibi associations to come to Hayellabuk play ground on January 3 and participate in the protest to be staged by the JAC.
Md Sarif further urged all for strictly observing and maintaining the teacher-student relationship so as to prevent such unscrupulous teachers from committing similar acts in the future.
