Interaction meet held

Phundrei Battalion Assam Rifles of IGAR (South) organised an interaction with women representatives and meira paibi groups of Sugnu and nearby villages on the eve of Assam Rifles Raising Day celebration on Friday.
In a release, PRO IGAR (S) informed that the interaction was aimed to create awareness regarding the role of women for uplift of society and to eradicate the menace of drug use among youth.
The attendees were also enlightened about the various schemes and beneficial programmes initiated by the state and central governments for promoting women's education over the years to change the mindset of the general populace and improve the overall condition of society.
They were also enlightened on the Agniveer scheme, women's reservation in Armed Forces and pre-recruitment training started by Armed Forces.
A total of 19 representatives attended the interaction, which culminated with suggestions from the representatives.
