MU Committee welcomes CU Punjab EBSB team

Manipur University Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB) Yuva Sangam Committee on Saturday welcomed Central University, Punjab EBSB Yuva Sangam team who arrived here on Friday on a weeklong exposure tour under the EBSB programme, an initiative by the Government of India.
As a campus tour of MU, the team visited the different locations namely hostels, museum, old palace, archaeological sites.
different departmental blocks, etc.
The CU Punjab youth expressed delight while interacting with renowned filmmaker Aribam Syam Sharma.
A documentary film "Yelhou Jagoi" directed by Syam Sharma was also screened at the Department of Mass Communication, MU.
In the evening, Manipur Governor Anusuiya Uikey interacted with the CU Punjab team along with the faculties and officers of the Manipur University.
Governor Anusuiya also shared about her involvement in social and political activities right during the college days and highlighted the importance of "Yuva Sangam" under Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB).
Addressing the students, the Governor said that success is achieved only with hard work, honesty and dedication.
Manipur is a very good state, naturally rich and people are very religious.
The culture is very rich and women are hardworking, she said.
Sharing the experiences of her life, the Governor said that she started her career as a professor and she tried to educate the tribal and the backward people of the society by working in remote areas.
When asked about her impression of Manipur, the Governor replied that the culture and dress here are very good and attract everyone.
The Governor thanked Yuva Sangam programme for giving such opportunities to the youth of the country.
Earlier, a formal reception ceremony held at Manipur University court hall was attended by MU vice-chancellor Prof N Lokendra Singh, in the presence of Deans, HoDs, Yuva Sangam Committee members and officers of MU.
Prof N Lokendra also felicitated the team by handing over Lengyan.
Speaking about the Yuva Sangam initiative, the vice chancellor expressed that Manipur shares close connection with the state of Punjab in terms of intellectuals, prominent government bureaucrats and trade and business which could help in developing the state.
MU EBSB Cell nodal officer Prof Ch Ibohal Singh released a short video on the activities performed on the first day of the programme and highlighted importance of strengthening the fabric of traditionally existing emotional bonds between the people of the country and spirit of oneness focussing on tourism, tradition, development and technology.
Lastly, the team paid a visit to Marjing polo complex, built on the top of Heingang Ching, the sacred abode of God Marjing, located in Heingang, Imphal East.
