Health camp conducted, sports items donated

As part its civic action initiative, 46 AR Khuga Battalion under IGAR (South) on Saturday organised a medical camp at the border sub-divisional headquarters of Sing hat.
As many as 360 people from various villages turned up to get health check-ups.
The programme was organised by the doctors and staff of Singhat community health centre (CHC) in collaboration with the 46 AR.
Three doctors from 46 AR and two from Singhat CHC screened the people.
According to 46 AR MO Dr T Ajenta Kumar, the aim of the health camp was to reach out to the villagers in remote areas who could not afford proper medical facilities due to problems of transportation and poverty.
Diabetes, hypertension, fever and others due to changes in weather are common health issues among the people, the doctor added.
As part of the programme, sports items were also distributed to schools such as Hill Model, Rayburn, St Joseph and Standard High School, and Singhat Youth Club.
1000-litre Syntax water tank was also provided to six village chiefs in and around Singhat.
The students and school authorities expressed their heartfelt gratitude to Assam Rifles and acknowledged the initiative of Indian security forces by calling them the true friends of the north east.
