MHA states stand on newspaper price hike

Manipur Hawkers' Association (MHA) has adopted several resolutions regarding the recent hike in prices of state dailies.
Executive members of Manipur Hawkers' Association convened a meeting to discuss the issue at Manipur Press Club here on Saturday.
The meeting resolved that the hawkers (newspaper distributors) not to object increase in prices of newspapers but will continue to pay at the previously fixed rate to the media houses till February 15 .
It also resolved that the hawkers will pay to the media houses after deducting 33.3 per cent from the price of the newspaper according to the number of pages.
For instance, Rs 4 will be paid for newspapers with 12 pages, Rs 3.30 for 10 pages, Rs 2.65 for 8 pages and Rs 2 for 4 pages, it added.
