Court jails fake aadhaar maker

Imphal, October 29 2022:
A court on Saturday remanded a man, who was arrested by a team of Lilong PS on October 23 for making and providing fake Aadhaar cards to illegal Bangladeshi immigrants, to judicial custody.
The man, identified as one Md Hafiz Salatur (26) s/o Md Serajuddin of Konuma HiyangKhong, is the owner of MS Mercy Travel (an Aadhaar processing unit) in Lilong Bazar.
According to a police report, Salatur was arrested in connection with an FIR.
He was caught preparing the Aadhaar card of an illegal Bangladeshi immigrant named Mohammad Ramjan Ali (35) s/o Jalaluddin of Piyali Mari, of Chapainawabganj district, Bangladesh, but had been staying in Lilong.
He (Salatur) was produced before the court of Chief Judicial Magistrate, which then remanded him to judicial custody.
It may be mentioned here that Salatur had advised Ramjan to produce a valid Aadhaar card to pose as the latter's father, for which one Md Morgan came forward.
Bangladeshi immigrant Mohammad Ramjan Ali was arrested by Lilong Police on October 19 and he is currently under detention at the 3IRB Detention centre in Thoubal.
