Month-long Clean India Drive concludes

The month-long Clean India Campaign Drive-2022 organised by NSS Cell, Manipur University concluded on Saturday at the varsity's Traffic Island near Ghambir Singh Monument.
The valedictory programme was attended by MU Students' Welfare dean Prof M Premjit Singh as chief guest and NSS-Cell coordinator Dr M Nodiyachand Singh as president while Dr S Sunil Singh, and NSS UNIT-I, II and III programme officers namely Dr Moirangthem Macha Chaoreikanba and Dr H Suraj Singh were the guests of honour.
The Campaign had commenced with Plogging Run & Cleanliness drive on October 2 which covered the SBI, Health Centre, International Girls Hostels, Western side of Staff's Quarters, Children park, Boundary walls, Chandranadi, Canteen road, Old Social Science Block and NSS Office.
MU VC Prof Lokendra said that the Clean India Campaign was launched to uphold the concept of Mahatma Gandhi, known as father of the Nation, of a clean India.
According to Dr Nodiyachand Singh, the month long programme included disposing of pending cases, files, processes in the authority offices and heads, dean and directors' offices, cleaning all condemned items in the offices/departments and making better spaces for smooth office work; cleaning single used plastic waste inside the University campus and near monuments.
The drive was participated by about 200 volunteers from NSS Unit-I, II & III and research scholars from boys' and girls' hostels of the university, he added.
