Boxing: Anjali Soibam punches her way to quarterfinals

Imphal, October 29 2022:
Anjali Devi Soibam booked a quarterfinal berth while three other state boxers progressed to the second round of the 5th Junior Girls' National Boxing Championship 2022 at Boxing Arena, Khuman Lampak here on Saturday.
Anjali Soibam (50-52kg) dominated Ankitha Raj K of Karnataka, securing a 5-0 verdict win to ensure her quarterfinal spot.
The day's competition also saw Sagar Chanu Mayengbam (46-48kg), Supriya Devi Thokchom (52-54kg) and Sandhyarani Tensum-bam (57-60kg) advance to the second round.
Sagar Chanu outpunched Kasturi Shinde of Goa, Supriya Thokchom got the better of Yatri Patel of Gujarat, and Sandhyarani defeated Jigyasa Patel of Rajasthan.
The state quartet of Thoicha Devi Elangbam (44-46kg), Esther Baite (48-50kg), Supriya Devi Thokchom (52-54kg) and Kimhoichong SK (54-57kg) will be in action on Sunday.
Thoicha will be up against Goa's Shravani Gurav, Esther Baite will face Chandigarh's Priyanshi Mishra, Supriya will take on Bihar's Lucky Kumari, and Kimhoichong will square off against Telangana's Neerupama Vijjapu.
