PAWF members feted in Bangladesh

Patriotic Writers' Forum (PAWF), Manipur members, who took part in a Ningol Chakkouba programme jointly organised by Manipuri Cultural Complex, Bangladesh and Manipuri Youths Forum, Bangladesh, were felicitated by Manipur Library & Research Centre, Bangladesh at its Leichonbam Leikai office on Saturday.
The felicitation function organised under the initiative of Manipur Library & Research Centre, Bangladesh founder Ayekpam Anju was attended by the Research Centre's advisor Leichonbam Rajkumar, PAWF president Naoroibam Khamba Luwang, former president Dr Yaiskul Khwairakpam, vice president Sobita Mongjam, secretary Rakesh Naorem, life member Dr Konthoujam Bimola and PAWF Guwahati branch secretary Raju Maibam as presidium members.
According to Ayekpam Anju, Manipur Library & Research Centre, Bangladesh was opened by Rakesh Naorem and Dr Yaiskul Khwairakpam on October 1, 2019 and the centre is now able to collect numerous books on Manipur within a short span of four years.
The centre has started giving meritorious award to students and it will continue to do so, he said.
In his speech at the event, Rakesh Naorem said that Meetei community will never become extinct as long as its rich culture and tradition, language and literature are preserved.
He said that there will be closer relation between Manipur and Bangladesh when Indo-Bangla cultural exchange programme is conducted frequently.
