Restaurant of Tangkhul delicacies opened

Veterinary and Animal Husbandry minister Khashim Vashum opened 'Roots', a restaurant serving Tangkhul delicacies at Thangmeiband Meisnam Leikai, here on Saturday.
Speaking on the occasion, Khashim Vashum encouraged the restaurant owner, who hails from Jessami, for the courage to open the business in Imphal with the objective of serving different types of Tangkhul delicacies to the public.
There was a time when people from hill districts felt hesitant to venture into business in Imphal but there is no such reluctance today.
It is a good sign of the growing unity and integrity among the indigenous communities, he said, while adding that the emerging trend will help in bringing peace and development in the state.
Apart from other food items, the restaurant is offering a special menu called Raphei Delicacy under which food items like smoked pork, pork with bamboo shoot, pork with dried bamboo shoot, beef dried spicy, country chicken stew, duck curry among others, would be made available.
