Cleanliness drives conducted at schools

A cleanliness drive was organised at ARPS Kakching on Tuesday by Phundrei Battalion of IGAR (South) as a part of Swachhata Pakhwada and to create awareness on issues and practices of cleanliness.
According to PRO IGAR (S), the main purpose of the programme was to create awareness among students about importance of clean environment and inculcating positive attitude towards healthy sanitation practices.
A total 45 students participated in the drive along with teaching and non-teaching staff of the school.
By organising such events, students have better understanding about their responsibility on cleanliness and promote the noble initiative of Swachh Bharat, the PRO added.
Somsai Battalion also organised Swachhta Pakhwada at Assam Rifles Public School (HS), Somsai under Ukhrul district on Wednesday to encourage the students to eliminate open defecation, conversion of unsanitary toilets to pour flush toilets, eradication of manual scavenging and bringing about a behavioural change in people regarding healthy sanitation practices.
