Shereinai Bliss crowned Miss Barak 2022

Senapati, December 15 2022:
Shereinai Bliss of Senapati district was crowned Miss Barak, 2022 on Wednesday evening, the second day of the 3rd State Level Barak Festival, 2022 .
The Miss Barak contest was attended by Municipal Administration, Housing and Urban Development (MAHUD) minister Y Khemchand Singh as chief guest.
In his address, Khemchand reminded all concerned that hard work is the only way to success as the minister recalled how he, coming from a big family of 10 siblings, had to struggle alone for livelihood in his early days.
Khemchand continued that he took up sports and was a national gold medallist in taekwondo and got selected for a world championship.
The MAHUD minister further said that poverty was never a hindrance to his goal in life as struggling alone can make one successful because he had never dreamed of becoming an elected member and minister.
in her welcome address, Senapati District Women Association general secretary Kayia Florence stated that Miss Barak has come a long way over the years and expressed pride in the winners and ambassadors of the event who would go on to participate in the Miss Manipur pageant and beyond.
With the ardent support of the state government, people of the district look forward for another history making event that can fulfil many dreams, Kayia added.
With 18 contestants representing different hill and valley districts, the Miss Barak, 2022 contest was held amidst a huge crowd.
All the contestants talked about the need to protect and preserve the Barak River as well as to save the nature as collective responsibility.
While Shereinai walked away with the crown, Thonjiliu Pamei was adjudged the first runner-up and Jianreiliu Gonmei second runner-up.
Ng Shereinai, who hails from Keize village, presently resides at National Games Village, Imphal.
She is 20 years of age and aspires to become a civil servant.
Presently, she is pursuing her BSc (5th Semester) in chemistry honours at Dhanamanjuri University, Imphal.
Earlier, Shereinai won the Miss Dhanamanjuri University 2021 title and was also among top 10 finalists in the Miss Shirui Lily pageant.
1st runner-up, Thonjiliu hails from Nallong village in Tamenglong district.
She did her Master's degree and aspires to be become a Professor.
Second runner-up Jianreiliu Gonmei hails from Nungba Sub-Division in Noney district and is currently pursuing her Master's degree (1st Semester) at Dhanamanjuri University.
She was also first runner-up in the Dhanamanjuri University 2020-21 contest, besides winning the Miss Beautiful Smile title in the past.
Sub-contest winners of the Miss Barak 2022 pageant include Shoibam Sushima Devi (Best Catwalk), T Dorothy Maram (Beautiful Skin), Athisa Thangal (Beautiful Hair) and Babina Thokchom (Beautiful Smile), while Keisham Casper was given the Best Designer award.
