Minister scans RD & PR recruitment exam

To maintain transparency in government recruitment, Rural Development & Panchayati Raj (RD & PR) minister Y Khemchand personally inspected recruitment examination for 84 different vacant posts of the department conducted at DRDA training hall, Porompat on Thursday.
Before scanning the exam centre, minister Khemchand told media persons that candidates applying for government jobs think that they would not be selected without giving money but time has come to discard such a notion as the present government will take up every possible step to ensure transparency in recruitment.
He said that the recruitment exam is being held for 49 posts of office assistant out of the total 84 vacancies and seven posts for drivers.
Other posts include seven stenographer grade III posts and 21 posts of peon.
Written test for all the posts had been conducted earlier and practical test for office assistant and stenographer is being held Thursday, he said, adding that computer test is being held for office assistant and computer speed test for stenographer.
Marks secured by office assistant candidates in computer test will be declared instantly and candidates will be made to sign on a paper to authenticate the marks they secured.
Selection will be totally based on merit after tabulating marks they secured in both written and practical tests, he said, adding that there will be no room for corruption in the ongoing recruitment process.
Marks secured by candidates in computer test could be known by paying Rs 300 but the fee would be exempted for candidates belonging to BPL families, he added.
According to Y Khemchand, corruption in job recruitment not only demoralises educated youth but also pushes students to drugs and accordingly government decided to make job recruitment free and fair.
He also said that results of the recruitment exam will be declared as soon as the Department of Personnel gives the approval.
Meanwhile, a candidate who took part in the recruitment exam, expressed happiness over transparency maintained in the recruitment and lauded the efforts being made by the CM Biren led government to uproot corruption.
The candidate also said that result of written test for the recruitment exam was declared without taking any money and every candidate was given opportunity to go through the marks they secured.
