Nagaland advised to uphold Constitutional boundary

hile stating that only the boundary drawn by the Constitution between Manipur and Nagaland is to be adhered to; Chief Minister N Biren Singh has expressed belief that the Nagaland government will respect the Constitutional boundary as well.
Responding to questions from media on the ban imposed by Southern Angami Public Organisation (SAPO) against Mao locals from enter ing Southern Angami region, on the sidelines of a function on Thursday; Biren said that the dispute between Nagaland's Angami and Mao is an issue between two neighbours over the traditional boundary.
Both states will respect and adhere to the boundary specified by the Constitution.
No organisation can ban the movement of Mao people.
The government of Manipur and its people stand with the Mao denizens, he affirmed, adding that there is no lack of support for the people of Mao.
It may be recalled that in view of the boundary dispute between Manipur and Nagaland, SAPO convened a general body meeting and declared a ban on entry of Mao denizens in Southern Angami area from Thursday.
In addition, Southern Angami Youth Organisation (SAYO) had issued a statement "advising" all Mao people residing in Southern Angami to leave the area under its jurisdiction.
SAYO had also urged all villages to use its full power to drive away the people of Mao.
