NPMHR Ukhrul condemns blast

Ukhrul, December 15 2022:
Naga Peoples Movement for Human Rights (NPMHR), Ukhrul has strongly condemned Tuesday's bomb attack at the Zonal Education Office (ZEO), Ukhrul.
In a statement, NPMHR Ukhrul senior member Hungyohung called for all and sundry to condemn the act.
"It is an act of terrorism and cowardice, only to disturb the fragile peace in our place.
No right-thinking person finds any rhyme or reason behind such dastardly act," he added.
It may be recalled that a powerful bomb exploded inside the campus located at Phungreitang in the heart of Ukhrul town around 4 pm on December 13.The explosion of the high intensity IED occurred soon after the office hours ended on the day.
Although no casualties were reported in the explosion, it caused a wave of panic and fear among the general public of the town.
The explosion caused a small crater on the floor of the front porch and partial damages to nearby properties including window pane and the main entrance gate.
The motive behind the explosion is yet to be established.
No groups have claimed responsibility for the act so far.
Ukhrul police has registered a suo moto case in connection with incident and further investigation is on.
