3 members of UG groups arrested

Imphal, April 01 2023:
Security forces arrested three members of different proscribed groups on Friday and Saturday.
According to police, acting on a tip-off by 4 AR about the presence of members of armed groups in between Kongba Standard College and Lairenpat, a team led by special commando OC subedar L Bebekananda Singh conducted frisking and checking near an oil pump close to the College on Saturday around 11.30 am.
During the frisking, a suspicious looking man came from Irilbung side and upon verification he identified himself as Chingakham Darmo Singh alias Nongpoknganba (38) son of Shyambando of Andro Mar-ingthel.
Upon further interrogation, Darmo revealed that he is an active cadre of the proscribed RPF/PLA and joined the armed organisation through one Ibohanbi of Andro Khuman Leikai in 2005 .
He got basic military training at Thangjing Ching under the outfit's instructors namely Lairaba and Mangai and obtained army no.0045 of 2005.He is presently working in office maintenance of the party under the command of one Chinglen.
Darmo has been handed over to Irilbung police station for necessary actions.
Meanwhile, a combined team of 37 AR and Kakching police arrested an active cadre of proscribed KYKL from Waikhong Bazar on Friday around 8.20 pm.
The arrested cadre has been identified as Khuraijam Meipak alias Herojit Meitei (40) son of Ibotombi Of Waikhong Maning Leikai.
He joined the group in 2001 and is now a self-styled lieutenant bearing army no 706/12.The arrested cadre has been handed over to Waikhong police station.
Moreover, 36 AR rounded up a cadre of PLA from New Bazar bus stand, Churachandpur district on Friday at 6.30 pm.
The captive identified as Soibam Ibomcha alias Ningthoulemba (46), son of Dhanou of Bashikhong, has been handed over to Churachandpur police station for further necessary actions, it added.
