Reader's Nest library opens at Ccpur

A library named 'Reader's Nest' having 49 reading rooms and hostel facility has been opened on Saturday at CYA Road Bethel Veng, New Lamka.
The opening function of the library organised jointly by Ropiang Foundation Trust and Reader's Nest was attended by additional chief secretary Vumlunmang Vualnam as chief guest and Reader's Nest director Dr Thangchinkhup Guite as chief host.
Pherzawl DC Haulianlal Guite and additional DC (Ccpur) Khaikhopau Ngaihte were also present as functional president and guest of honour respectively.
In his speech at the function, Haulianlal Guite said that Reader's Nest sponsored by Bharat Petroleum and Coal India has hostel facility for 30 students out of which 20 seats are for students from the hills belonging to poor and vulnerable family background.
Addressing the gathering, Vumlunmang Vualnam said that if those 30 students accommodated in the hostel of Reader's Nest succeed in the profession they are pursuing, the society will benefit a lot and appealed to one and all to derive maximum benefit from the newly inaugurated library.
The library has 5000 books at present and efforts are on to add 15,000 more books.
There are 49 reading rooms in general sections with 24 seats while the sessions are fixed from 6am to noon, from noon to 6pm and from 6pm to 12pm daily.
Besides, there are 20 computer sets in the designated IT rooms and facilities for computer training.
