MEELAL expresses concern on non-recruitment of Meetei Mayek teachers

Meetei Erol Eyek Loinasillol Apunba Lup (MEELAL), Kangleipak has expressed discontent that the State Government has not taken up any positive for recruitment of Meetei Mayek teachers till date.
MEELAL in a press release said that as a part of its continued efforts to promote Meetei Mayek, a Teacher Eligibility Test (TET) for Meetei Mayek in 2013 as per an agreement with the then Government.
Subsequently, a supplementary Meetei Mayek TET was also held since it became essential to pass the TET to apply for the post of teacher.
However, it is unfortunate that the State Government failed to take up relevant measures to recruit Meetei Mayek teachers and is a big setback for those who have acquired degrees in Meetei Mayek and had passed the Meetei Mayek TET, the release maintained.
In view of the above concern, a meeting will be held on April 5, 2023 at MEELAL Head Office to discuss the issue.
MEELAL appealed to all candidates who have passed Meetei Mayek Supplementary TET 2016 and MEELAL district representatives to attend the meeting without fail.
The body denounced the indifference attitude of the State towards the upliftment of the Meetei Mayek and maintained that collective efforts must be made the achieve the cause.
MEELAL also cautioned that it won't remain as a silent spectator if the authorities concerned failed to take up necessary measures to promote Meetei Mayek.
