As part of the month-long Jai Bharat Satyagraha launched by All India Congress Committee (AICC), Kakching and Sugnu Block Congress Committee organised press briefings on Saturday to extend solidarity to INC leader Rahul Gandhi who was suspended as a member of Lok Sobha.
Speaking to media persons at Sugnu Makha Leikai Community Hall, M Debajit, president of Sugnu Block Congress Committee stated that it is high time for all the Opposition parties to come together to fight the tyrannical regime of the BJP Government and save democracy.
Claiming that the suspension of Rahul Gandhi was a defeat for democracy itself, he mentioned that Sugnu Block Congress Committee will support the Congress leader in the fight against oppression.
"Democratic norms and civil liberties have deteriorated since the BJP came to power in 2014", he alleged.
