Village chief refutes SoO group threat reports

Chief of Y Langkhong village Tonhoulal Haokip has refuted the report of Kuki UG organisations under Suspension of Operation (SoO) threatening village chiefs, youth and women of Kuki villages under Saikul assembly constituency.
Addressing a press meet at Kuki Inpi hall, Saikul Bazar on Sunday, Tongoulal termed as unfortunate that some people filed a complaint to the CEO Manipur citing false allegations of KRA and KLA cadres threatening villagers and coercing them to vote for candidates of a particular political party.
He said that till date none of the SoO groups have threatened the villagers and the village chiefs.
While claiming that some people forged signatures of village chiefs, he urged authority concerned to investigate the matter and take up appropriate legal actions against those involved in the forgery.
In another press meet held at Samushong village, Longneljang village chief Paokholet said that there is no incident of KNA cadres threatening village chiefs, youth and women of villages in Yaingangpokpi area under Saikul AC.
He also made similar claims of some individuals forging signatures of village chiefs to lodge false complaint and urged for taking up legal actions against those involved.
