One day career counselling programme for law students conducted

A one day online cum physical career counselling programme for Law-Students was conducted by District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West, pn 25th February, 2022 under the aegies of Manipur State Legal Services Authority at the premises of Department of Law, Manipur University.
The program was led by A Guneshwar Sharma, MJS, District and Sessions Judge, Imphal West cum Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Imphal West, Chandel and Tamenglong accompanied by Ojesh Mutum, Member Secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Sorokhaibam Sadananda, Addl.
Member Secretary, Manipur State Legal Services Authority, Dr Laishram Rina Devi, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Tamenglong.
Dr.Yumriam Premananda Singh delivered introductory speech regarding the programme.
A Guneshwar Sharma delivered detailed speech on the topic "Career Counselling Programme for Law Students".
He highlighted the areas that may be pursued by a LLB degree holder.
Those students who have passed LLB can enroll themselves as Advocates after passing All India Bar Examination; they can pursue LLM for further studies; they can be Professor in Law; they can be Legal Advisors in different departments both in various public and private sector etc.
They can appear for Judicial Service Examination, Civil Service Examination, Examination for appoinment of Public Prosecutor etc.
Ojesh Mutum spoke on various careers that can be opted for by law students after passing of LLB or LLM.
Such degree holders can choose any of the careers like Advocacy, Law Firm, Public Prosecutor, Legal Research, Legal Journalism, Legal Advisor, etc.
Sincerity, Honesty and Sacrifice are requisite to succeed in the fields of law, he added.
Sorokhaibam Sadananda shared his experience regarding preparation for appearing Judicial Service Examination and the importance of Procedural Laws and sense of Justice.
The programme was successfully conducted with participants of around 70 Law Students from Manipur University and various Law Colleges of Manipur both physical and online, with good number of Faculty Members, Department of Law, Manipur University.
