Konkan Thana road project nearing completion

Imphal, March 15 2022:
Road development project of Kamjong-Konkan Thana road, which would become a major route for Indo-Myanmar cross border trade, is nearing completion.
The 37.33 km long road that passes through Pillong has been an important route that connects the state with Myanmar.
However, it has been a difficult track for years, especially during rainy season, as it remained unattended for long.
However, the road project has been taken up at a total cost of Rs 107,39,97,000 with financial assistance from North Eastern Council (NEC) and Bhartia Infra Project Limited (BIPL) as the implementing agency.
Rehabilitation and upgradation of the road began from February 21, 2020 .
According to BIPL, the project is nearing completion and they are confident that it will be over by the end of April this year.
