World Consumer Rights Day observed

World Consumer Rights Day was observed at Manipur Press Club today under the theme 'Fair Digital Finance' organised by the Protection and Preservation Committee Manipur (PPCM) .
The programme was graced by convenor of PPCM Maibam Bisheshwor, former convenor Jeetendra Ningomba, president of IPSA Tourangbam Birjit, president of AMUCO, Nando Luwang, president of NIPCO, Th Manihar and former director of Prosecution, Advocate Ngangom Tejkumar as the presidium members.
Speaking on the occasion, Maibam Bisheshwor expressed concern that the common people are suffering owing to rampant unfair activities of the businessmen and traders who are focused only on monetary gains.
In a bid to sensitize the common people about the consumers rights so as to prevent from falling prey to ill practices of shopkeepers and traders, today's programme has been organised, he added.
The Consumer Court Advocates Association, Manipur too observed World Consumer Rights Day at Manipur Press Club.
The programme was attended by Chairperson of Manipur Human Rights Commission, Khaidem Mani, CAF&PD Senior Finance Officer Sanatombi Bachaspatimayum (MFS) and Judicial Member of State Commission Th Saimon, Advocate Ngangom Tejkumar, Socio Political Commentator Ch Bijoy and other advocates.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Ngangom Tejkumar said that one can contact the Consumer Commission located at the office of All Manipur Consumer Advocate Association for any consumer related problems or queries.
Also the Consumers' Club Manipur observed the World Consumer Rights Day at GM Hall today.
The event was graced by Ranjan Yumnam, Joint Secretary Horticulture and Co-operation, Govt of Manipur and T Phulchand Sharma, president of Consumers' Club as presidium members.
